I love a beautifully decorated show home, and a show home that benefits a great cause is even better. This past weekend I had the privilege of visiting just such a show home. The St. Jude Dream Home in Memphis is a 4,000 square foot luxury home that is being raffled off to help fund the hospital’s battle against childhood cancers and other deadly diseases. For those of you unfamiliar with St. Jude, the Memphis based hospital is one of the best pediatric cancer centers in the country. It is the only pediatric research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. No child is ever denied treatment because of the family’s inability to pay. What an amazing place! Since the first St. Jude Dream Home giveaway in 1991, more than 300 houses across the country have been awarded, and the program has raised more than $240 million for St. Jude.
I enjoyed my tour of this year’s Memphis dream home so much that I wanted to share it with you. Unfortunately, I’m not a superstar blogger who gets invited to private show home tours (yet - haha). I had to tour the home with lots of other people, and you’ll see all these people milling about in my photos. If you can ignore them and focus on the beautiful rooms you’re about to see, I’m sure you’ll get some great ideas for your future dream home.
